NOOX

NOOX is a record label, production company, recording studio and much more.

It was founded in 2015 by Doug Thomas. Initially based in Fitzrovia, London – hence the name NoOx, or North of Oxford St. –, it then moved to Pimlico, and is now based in Battersea.

NOOX has released over fifty singles, EPs and albums as well as three compilations – Haruki, in honour of Haruki Murakami, Dodomu, a fundraising compilation in support of Ukraine, and Cristofori, a collection of works for Piano Day 2023. Some of the artists that have released with the label include Luca Longobardi, Marie Awadis, Mathieu Karsenti, Violeta Vicci, as well as Roberto Ventimiglia, Davide Faisello, Edoardo Gastaldi and Doug Thomas.

The label ambitions the creation of an art that is both contemplative and stimulating, which balances the aesthetics of the Old World and the ones of the New World. The approach is DIY and experimental, and aims at achieving the balance between beauty and interest.

NOOX is also a collective which intends to gather the worlds of composed and improvised music. The roots are deeply anchored in the philosophy of less is more, yet sometimes maximalism takes over minimalism.

The label is currently led by Davide Fasiello, Edoardo Gastaldi, Doug Thomas and Roberto Ventimiglia.
