Lars Jakob Rudjord is a Norwegian pianist and composer at the centre of the Nordic neoclassical music scene. Influenced by the music of Max Richter, Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm, as well as his own cultural Scandinavian heritage, Rudjord released his latest single Pharos on February 23rd, 2018.

 

Pharos has a lullaby quality that immediately puts the listener in a state of calm.The intimate introductory notes set the pulse of Pharos, while discreet strings lay out the atmospheric attributes of the piece. A lifting celestial section then adds light and a sense of floating while the the angelic melody slowly returns and concludes the piece.

 

With Pharos, Rudjord seems to shut down every surrounding sounds and cradles us into the contemplative Northern landscapes and sceneries.
